Can the bumpers of a Jeep Cherokee Sport be painted to match the rest of the Jeep?

I am caught in a dilemma. I am buying a Jeep Cherokee soon. I am in love with a 2001 Limited, but it is out of my price range. There is a 2000 Sport with less mileage but the color is awful. Are there any drawbacks to painting the whole thing (bumpers and door guards) to look like a clic or limited?
