Why are girls so gossipy?

im a girl but i hate to gossip. talking about others just isnt right so i hang out with alot of guys because they dont gossip as much. my bball team pretty much hates each other and this one girl talks about everyone on the team...why does it matter if someones doing something you dont like, but theyre not bothering you? i just dont get it
