Do people from Arizona have a southern accent?

I've met someone recently from Arizona (originally midwest area, I believe but she grew up there) and she has a country/southern accent. I know several people from AZ, some of which are FROM there and some of which have relocated in more recent years. None of them have distinct accents and they sure don't sound much like cowboys. Is it common for an Arizonan to sound more like a Texan?
